Curtis Jones, owner of Technology Center on Glendale Avenue in Sparks, last week completed purchase of Computers of Reno in the Smithridge Shopping Center.
The acquisition was a good fit, Jones says, because Computers of Reno has a strong retail presence while Technology Center has found a strong niche in sales and computer repair for business and government clients.
“It is just an add-on to what we are doing,” Jones says.
Terms of the acquisition weren’t disclosed, but Jones says he used a mix of private funding and a loan through Wells Fargo. Jones hired a new manager to run Computers of Reno, and both locations will begin focusing on cyber-security, Jones says. Technology Center employs six people.
Steve Santens of BTI Mergers & Acquisitions represented Jones in negotiations, while Katrina Loftin-Winkel of BTI represented the seller.
