Nation is becoming a habitation of devils
Responding to Spencer, Steingrebe, Vandenais, the three blind mice, you may be content living your lives in ignorant bliss. If you feel that’s gonna end well, then there’s no hope for you. Keep drinking in that Babylonian brew if you want.
America is becoming a habitation of devils and the hole of every foul spirit and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird, just as the bible says all nations would that forsake his truth. We have church houses full of lost souls with snakes in the pulpits, confused people who can’t think straight, an out of control government whose spending us into slavery, people drugged out of their minds, lawlessness abounding, hungry people who can’t find good jobs so they can take care of their families, homelessness and jokers like you three aboard the good ship lollipop headed for fantasy land thinking that all is well and will end well because — don’t you know? “All paths are correct.”
Well, if that’s your choice, sister, knock yourself out. But I’m not buying it. I believe what God says, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” — Ezekiel 18:4.

NDOT reminder: Don’t speed in work zones
A new memorial ribbon is being constructed at the Nevada Department of Transportation headquarters building. The earthwork ribbon stands in front of a long-standing wall memorializing the 25 NDOT employees who have lost their lives while working in road work zones since the department’s founding.
Every year there are multiple deaths and up to 1,000 crashes in Nevada road work zones, and NDOT reminds everyone to slow down and drive safely in road work zones.

Lent had nothing to do with paganism
Regarding a few letters condemning the practices of Lent services as being originating from pagan practices: It had nothing at all to do with paganism or any other religious practice!
The 40 days of Lent was established in the Catholic Church as a reminder for us to remember and appreciate the sufferings of Jesus Christ, while fasting for 40 days and 40 nights in the desert prior to His crucifixion which He suffered for all of mankind!

Lawmakers unjustly support law-breakers
The United States was founded on the rule of law and obeying the law. When a law is unfair or is wrong, there is a process to change the law, and this process should be followed. Gov. Sandoval and Sen. Heller are supporting ranchers who break the law by not pay grazing fees. The confrontation between the federal officers and the ranchers, which they support, could lead to serious injuries or deaths.
Our elected representatives should enforce the laws of the state and country or legally change them — if not, resign from office.

It would be a shame to lose Empire Ranch
I have had the pleasure of living in Carson City for the past four years after retiring and moving here from San Diego. The citizens are friendly and helpful. The seasonal changes in the weather is something I really enjoy, although winter is not my favorite. I particularly enjoy playing golf and find it sad that there is such an uproar with the Empire Ranch course.
The staff there has done a good job in bringing the course back into shape after the terrible winter a couple of years ago. It would be a shame to lose it. Perhaps something can be worked out between the owners and the city, like what happened with Eagle Valley. It was also not paying its taxes, but an arrangement was made to keep it viable.
Speaking of courses, Sunridge is also making a good comeback and is now very playable. The greens are terrific and the staff is working hard to turn it into a good course. Silver Oak is also in good shape, as always, and is pretty much the gem in town!
Those four golf courses are a big draw for groups of golfers who like to travel here from out of state. It would be a real shame to lose the Empire Ranch course at a time when our politicians are moaning about bringing in more visitors and their money. Let’s hope something can be worked.
