Gone. The little house on the block north of the Mint, and for a long time used as the obese proprietor of the Hormsby ‘Ouse says, as an hoil room, has gone deponent knoweth not where. But on its site will soon be moved the large, three story hotel formerly owned by J.S. Bryant. E. Walker, the happy, jolly and accommodating proprietor of the Mint House in days gone by, has purchased the Bryant house and proposes to give it another move. When thoroughly refitted and repaired will open up and keep a first-class hotel.

It now transpires that Miss Hill got $500 from Sharon every time she rubbed his feet. Miss Hill’s olfactory organs must be extremely sensitive to require so much money as that ever time Sharon exposes his toes.

100 years ago

Tex Richard has been found. Shortly after the Jeffries-Johnson fight at Reno, “Tex” disappeared from public view and since then reports of the former fight promoter and miner had him striking it rich in Alaska, Africa and South America. None other than the intrepid explorer, Theodore Roosevelt located “Tex” as one of the cattle barons in Paraguay. Roosevelt ran across the promoter while traveling on a Paraguayan gunboat to find the headwaters of the Amazon.

The Rainbow Girls will give a silver tea and hold a fashion show Sunday at the Leisure Hour Club. Miss Jackie Ross is in charge of the various committees.

50 years ago

Approximately 40 seventh and eighth grade science students at Carson City Junior High School will exhibit projects at a science fair. There is no admission and the public is invited.

30 years ago

The Carson girls track team swept its fifth straight win in the Bishop Relays to spark the Senators to an overall sweepstakes victory.
