T.J. Day, a Reno rancher, oilman, businessman and philanthropist who died in January, will be recognized with The Chamber’s Raymond I. Smith Civic Leader of the Year Award during the organization’s annual recognition luncheon.
The event begins with registration and networking at 11 a.m. May 7 at the Silver Legacy.
Top businesses and nonprofits also will be recognized.
Business of the Year nominees among large companies include Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, Heritage Bank and Office Depot.
Business of the Year nominees among small businesses include A Master Mechanic, Camelot Party Rentals and Fingerprint Express.
Finalists for the Community Spirit Award include Campo, Riverwalk Merchants Association and US Foods.
Nonprofit of the Year finalists include Assistance League of Reno Sparks, Northern Nevada HOPES and Veterans Guest House.
Also scheduled is recognition of Lynn Tackman, who retired from the chamber this year after 27 years.
