(A letter from Johnny Stewart, continued from Tuesday.) I will now say farewell and hope we will meet above, and hope you will pray for me. The day of execution is the 24th of this month, and may God bless all and have mercy on my soul, is my earnest prayer. Signed, Royal Johnny Stewart. (And an article following the execution ...) The Hanging of Johnny Stewart. Convicted and sentenced to death for killing Frank Durand at Columbus about a year ago, was hung at Aurora, Nevada, at 2 p.m. on Friday last, Sheriff Helm acting as executioner. The prisoner said he had only one request to make, namely, that he be allowed free indulgence of alcoholic beverages until the moment of the dissolution. (Continued on Thursday.)

Meder’s Last Schottische. The Appeal has received a schottische composed by J.P. Meder entitled “The Sweetest Yet Schottische.” It is published by M. Gray, of San Francisco, and dedicated to Miss Alice Goss. Being unfamiliar of music in the printed form, we are unable to pass any critical judgement.

The Record-Courier of Gardnerville reports that Mr. and Mrs. Neddenriep, who were injured in a runaway accident at Minden on Saturday, are improving from serious injuries.

The fifth annual convention of the Nevada Association of DeMolay Chapters is being held in Carson City, marking the 25th anniversary of the founding of the order. The order grew out of Frank “Dad” Land’s interest in young boys and their problems.
