Distributor of salon products moves HQ from San Jose

A distributor of salon and beauty products is moving its headquarters to Reno from San Jose.

Independent Salon Services will be located at 4950 Kietke Lane in the Bank of the West office building.

Kymberly Helser, owner of the company, said she decided to relocate Independent Salon Services to take advantage of Nevada’s attractive tax environment. Helser said she also was drawn the region’s quality of life.

Independent Salon Services sells to licensed salon professionals and stylists. It will continue to operate a wholesale distribution and retail storefront in San Jose.

Helser said the company expects to add sales and customer-service positions to its Reno headquarters staff.

Mike Kazmierski, chief executive officer of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, said the company’s decision further supports EDAWN’s drive to bring more corporate offices to the region.

EDAWN said Independent Salon Services also was assisted by commercial real estate agent Dominic Brunetti and the City of Reno.
