Then Nevada U.S. Attorney’s annual statewide Native American Conference is set to begin Aug. 25 in Reno.

This is the 18th annual conference. The three day event will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort.

The conference this year is entitled “Working Together for Hope, Healing and Justice.” It’s open to tribal chairs and administrators, tribal members, law enforcement, social and health care workers and others who need to learn about issues impacting the tribes.

Nevada is home to 26 recognized American Indian tribes located on 31 reservations and colonies.

“There is no quick fix to the public safety problems the tribes face but my office is committed to fighting crime and promoting justice on Nevada Indian lands,” said Nevada U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden.
