Lincoln Electric Cutting Systems Inc. in Reno won approval from the Reno City Council to receive up to $125,000 from the Catalyst Fund, a fund administered by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
The maker of plasma cutting tables, pipe-cutting machines and other manufacturing equipment will receive $5,000 per new job created up to 25 jobs or $125,000, under an agreement between GOED and the city.
The company, which operates out of a 118,000-square-foot facility on Trademark Drive, is owned by Cleveland-based Lincoln Electric Co. and consists of Torchmate CNC Cutting Systems and the Vernon Tool Co., which is relocating its operations from Oceanside, Calif., to Reno.
As part of this move, Lincoln Electric invested in new production equipment for the facility and hired an additional 30 people, who are mostly residents of Reno, according to Amanda Butler, director of investor relations for the Lincoln Electric Co.
According to the city, Lincoln Electric Cutting will use the money to defray some of the relocation costs, buy new equipment and renovate its Reno facility.
