Historic Mapes Hotel a huge loss for Reno

Thank you for the article on the Mapes Hotel in Reno. It was a beautiful building and the heart of Reno activities. As a student at the University of Nevada, Reno, I was hired as one of the elevator employees along with many of my student friends. It was a great job to have. We attended many functions in the Sky Room from New Year’s Eve parties, weddings, and fraternity parties.

What a shame that it has been torn down along with many other historic places in Reno.

Thanks to organizers of V&T Polar Express

Regarding the V&T Polar Express, a big thank you to all who participated in putting this memorable event together. We had 13 family members ranging in age from 4 to 81 years old, and we all thoroughly enjoyed this adventure. The staff was exceptional. It was so much more than we expected.

Thank you, Santa and V&T helpers, for making us believe. A family affair for sure.
