Origins of Lent are pagan, not Christian
In response to Ms. Cyr, Lent is absolutely not a Christian tradition; its origin is pagan. Jesus didn’t suffer a cruel death on the cross and resurrect the third day just so we could give up a bad habit for 40 days. We’re all wretched, sinful people who deserve hell, but God gave His only begotten son to die in our place, that if we’ll repent and put all our faith and trust in His finished work of redemption for us, we’ll be saved from God’s wrath.
Isaiah 53:5 — “But he was wounded for our transgressions (law breaking), he was bruised for our iniquities (sins): the chastisement of our peace (with god the Father) was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (saved).”
True Christians — and you who hear God’s voice through His written word — repent, and come out from among them. Don’t fall for this lie about Lent being a Christian tradition, it’s not. God will save whosever will call on Him, in Jesus Christ’s name, and He will wash you clean through His true word and deliver you from your bad habits. I know because He did it for me and is still doing it. He is your only hope of Heaven.

Illegal immigrants to blame for water issues
What water shortage? Hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens trash our countryside, wear out the infrastructure, commit many crimes against American citizens and consume an enormous amount of water on a daily basis.
Entrenched government bureaucrats blame ol’ Mother Nature for a purported “water shortage.” If the water spigot was turned off to all illegals, legal residents will have an abundance of water.
Unfortunately, left wing radicals like Reid, Heller and Sandoval do nothing about the illegals problem. These two-bit grifters haven’t the courage to speak out publicly against the invasion of America by illegal aliens.
How did Sandoval pass law school and the state bar exam? You would think a former judge would be eager to enforce all laws. Yet, he champions illegal aliens (common criminals), giving each of them a driver’s license.
Until illegal aliens are forced to stop using water, which rightfully belongs to legal residents, all references to “drought” will be just another government lie.
