Carson water works. Rice and Helms water works reservoir is capable of holding 200,000 gallons. The reservoir is on Porter Warren’s place — old Camp Nye. The supply of water to fill this receptacle will be taken from Taylor’s Spring. A conduit has been constructed to Middle Spring. Quill Spring is available to yield in the dry season. The main that conducts the water from the reservoir is 1-16 inch, tested, wrought iron, 974 feet in length and 12 inches in diameter. The supply of water from these works is clear, cold and pure — right from the heart of the Sierra. The main pipe will come down to Robinson Street — the street this side of the mint.
