Mr. Tevis, the new pastor of the Methodist Church in Carson, preached his first sermon to that congregation last Sunday. He is a man of pleasing address, good voice and earnest speech — an intellectual, unostentatious gentleman, who has clear ideas he presents in a lucid style.

T.T. Earthing came in from Silver Creek yesterday and returned there today. He is entitled to the belt as the champion snake killer of the state.
He had a box containing 65 rattlesnake rattles, taken from reptiles he has slain over there this summer. He discovered a den at Mitchum’s ranch, and on the first day killed thirty five. — Times-Review.

Three arrests in Carson City and one in San Francisco has broken up what is believed to be one of the most efficient gangs of burglars operating, says sheriff Lester V. Smith. Thousands of dollars in merchandise were being shipped to San Francisco for disposal.
