Advocates to End Domestic Violence is encouraging participants to dress in costume for its annual Light After Dark Walk/Run on Saturday at Riverview Park.
Participants will be given a glow stick to wear while walking or running the lit trail that winds along a sandy path through desert foliage and cottonwood trees skirting the edge of the Carson River.
The course is the park’s full loop once around for the 5K and twice around for the 10K. There will be music and refreshments after the race.
Packet pickup will be at 11 a.m. on the day of the event. Warm-ups will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the race will follow at 6.
Tickets for adults cost $35 each until the race, then they cost $40 each. Tickets for children under 17 are $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the race.
