Statewide sing-along seeks to establish a new record

Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki announced one of the final sesquicentennial initiatives and invited fellow Nevadans to join him, Gov. Brian Sandoval and the Nevada 150 Commission for NevadaSings, a state-wide simultaneous sing-along of “Home Means Nevada.”

On Thursday, Oct. 30 at 10 a.m., Nevadans will join together to demonstrate their state pride by singing a rendition of “Home Means Nevada” in an attempt to set a record for the most people in an American state to sing their state song at the same time.

“The Nevada family has a once in a lifetime opportunity to express our Nevada pride by joining together to sing our beautiful state song to set a new world record,” said Gov. Brian Sandoval. “This is our opportunity to show the world that “Home Means Nevada.”

Nevadans are encouraged to participate at offices, schools, homes, parks, and community centers in setting the record by entering video or photo proof of co-workers, classes, friends, or family singing the song. Video or photo proof will be submitted at www.Nevada150.org for RecordSetter, a Las Vegas-based company, to establish and verify the record.
