The Carson City Bench Press Championships, sponsored by Fitness for 10, will run from 7 to 9 a.m. on the clubhouse patio. Entry costs $10 for three lifts, and various categories are offered. Payment will be accepted at the event.

The four-person scramble golf tournament will start at 9 a.m. Categories include: men’s, women’s, mixed and senior for golfers 55 and older. There will be prizes for all divisions and also for long drive and closest to the pin.

Entry costs $75 per person and includes lunch. Registration forms can be picked up at Empire Ranch Golf Course Pro Shop or at www.visitcarsoncity.com.

Three-quarters of the day’s proceeds go to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, with the remaining quarter benefitting the Kiwanis Scholarship Fund.
