Wayside notes: Mr. Henry Vansickle has raised more pounds of apples that any other rancher in the state.

Fight: Dr. Guion and Ed Biglow, the blacksmith, had a fight outside of the Morton House over a bill. Dr. Guion called Biglow a “lying son of a ­—” and punched him in the nose. Biglow drew a six-shooter and beat the doctor over the head. The two rolled over and Dr. Guion caught Biglow’s thumb between his teeth and lacerated it terribly. Dr. Guion swore out a warrant for the arrest of Biglow, and Biglow will institute a civil suit for damages to his thumb ...
