Masses in honor of Divine Mercy planned in Virginia City

St. Mary’s in the Mountains, 111 S. E St. in Virginia City, is hosting two Masses in celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday, a day commemorating St. Faustina Kowalska’s visions of Jesus in the 1930s.

Bishop Calvo will dedicate a Divine Mercy statue to St. Mary’s and preside at a 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, April 11, when confessions will also be heard from 2 to 3:45 p.m.

Father Phillip George will conduct another Mass at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, April 12.

Both Masses will include a recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet and a veneration of the image.

Easter breakfast, service planned

Gift of Grace Lutheran Church, 290 West St., Fernley, is hosting an Easter breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

The church’s Easter service will be at 10 a.m. the same day; all are welcome to attend both events.

St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Outreach Center, 4280 Highway 50 in Silver Springs, is hosting Easter Sunday service at 10 a.m. April 5. All are welcome to attend.

First Baptist Easter Sunday

First Baptist Church of Carson City, 1750 Mountain St., will hold its Easter activities Sunday.

At 10:45 a.m., the church will present the Easter Sunday drama presentation, “And Now He’s Gone,” a mini-drama set in the time between the Crucifixion and Resurrection with Biblical characters reflecting on what the death of Jesus meant to them.

On Easter Sunday, First Baptist Church also will hold an Easter egg hunt open to the community to be held immediately after the service.

St. Gall hosting annual spring rummage sale

St. Gall Catholic Church, 1343 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville, is hosting its annual spring rummage sale, which also offers warm cups of coffee and donuts, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 24, and from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 25.

A car wash to support the church’s youth group will be at 8 a.m. both days.

Free worship service April 18 focusing on love

Eckankar, Religion of the Light and Sound of God, is sponsoring a free worship service titled “Developing a Love for All Life” at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Carson City Community Center.

The one-hour service includes a brief talk by a facilitator, readings, a small-group discussion and a short contemplation.
