Annual Light After Dark Walk/Run planned

Advocates to End Domestic Violence is inviting participants of this year’s Light After Dark Walk/Run, planned Oct. 17, to gather a group of friends, family or coworkers so they can enjoy the evening of food, music, prizes, and, of course, the 5K or 10K races.

Hundreds of solar lights will be placed on the track of Riverview Park at the end of Fifth Street to light up the path for runners and walkers. Children and strollers are welcome.

Organizers encourage “teams with themes” to dress up for fun as a group. An awards ceremony honoring best times and costumes will follow the races.

Warm ups are provided at the beginning of the event. There will be items for purchase or raffle, and free food and water for race participants. Sign-ups will be available soon at Active.com or at Classy Seconds.

For more information, follow Sara Advocates and Advocates to End Domestic Violence Facebook pages. To help sponsor the event, call Traci or Becca at 775-883-7654.
