Accommodating the skaters. The skating club got a small invoice of skates yesterday. By the way of accommodating them and their friends, Sheriff Smith will run his buss from the city to the race track during the day. Returning, it will be employed as an ambulance to bring back the dead and wounded.

(Comstock journalism, continued from Wednesday). The ankle was hurt, as shown to the reporter last evening. The assertion that the boy was big enough to work in the mines is quite significant. Anybody knows the Enterprise has always been in favor of filling the mines with kids. The miner’s union better interview the paper at once (continued on Friday).

Tomorrow evening in the High School auditorium, J. Claude Jones, professor of geology in the University of Nevada, will deliver a free lecture on earthquakes generally, and the effects of recent shakes in the eastern part of Nevada.

Dr. James Thom, Dr. G.A. Ross and Dr. Fred Anderson will lead a discussion on the problems and possibilities of obtaining a hospital for Carson City at a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce Tuesday night. The public is invited.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board recommended six proposed transfers of interest and 81 minor gambling applications for approval today. Included in one of the items was taken under advisement was a bid by L.A. “Hop” and Howard Adams to buy back the Carson City Nugget for $4 million.

30 years ago

The Board of Supervisors was told that commitments from six companies to relocate to Carson City will create more than 400 jobs in the area.
