RENO — Nevada Highway Patrol says two people are in custody after a high-speed chase near Fernley.
Trooper Duncan Dauber says names, descriptions and charges for those involved are not yet available.
Dauber says a trooper stopped on Interstate 80 Wednesday afternoon to help a car that seemed to be disabled. The car had Wyoming plates and was stopped east of Fernley.
He says the person drove off and troopers followed, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles an hour. According to police, the driver went through a cattle fence and eventually stopped on a dirt frontage road.
The male driver was taken into custody. A female passenger ran off but was caught and taken into custody as well.
