Steve Sinovic named newest editor of Northern Nevada Business Weekly

Steve Sinovic, a veteran business journalist with experience in Nevada and California, has been named editor of the Northern Nevada Business Weekly. He assumed the helm Feb. 2.

Sinovic is returning to Northern Nevada after seven years in California where he worked as a business writer and editor for newspapers in San Diego and Santa Barbara.

His move to Reno will mark his second stint as a business journalist working in the region. He spent 18 months as the editor of the Business Report of Northern Nevada in 2006-2007.

“This is a great opportunity,” Sinovic said of his return to Northern Nevada. “NNBW has a long and successful history. I’m looking forward to being part of that and helping the publication expand coverage and grow.”

He will lead the newsroom in both its print and digital platforms and in growing audience and engagement in those products.

“Steve has an excellent background as a business journalist,” said NNBW General Manager James Arden. “He will be a tremendous asset to the company and a key addition to the management team.”

In addition to editing duties, Sinovic will also be writing articles on a range of business topics and subjects.

“I look forward to getting out and reintroducing myself to members of the business community and learning about the major issues facing them,” he said.

A native of Portland, Ore., Sinovic received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon.
