Reno lands cyber security company

This may be the year your 20-something millennial gets out of the house and finds a job.

One business clearly looking to hire tech-savvy young people is BlackRidge Technology, a cyber-security company from Santa Clara, which will relocate its headquarters and operations to Reno.

The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada and Northern Nevada Development Authority jointly assisted BlackRidge in the relocation and its application for state incentives.

The company’s decision to move its business to northern Nevada is emblematic of the “smaller company” success stories touted by EDAWN and NNDA at the recent Directions 2015 program.

The Nevada business-friendly tax structure and the availability of incentives made it an easy business decision to expand our presence in the state and relocate our headquarters to Reno,” said Bob Graham, CEO of BlackRidge.

The technology is designed to cloak and protect enterprise networks and cloud resources from unidentified and unauthorized users. The company was founded in 2010 and recently leased space in the South Meadows area of Reno where construction on the new cyber lab has commenced and is scheduled to open later this year.
