Applicants for two seats on Carson City’s Planning Commission are being sought by the Board of Supervisors.
These slots on the commission are for terms that will expire in June of 2019. The panel oversees all matters pertaining to the city’s planning and zoning, land use and growth management. Commission meetings are held in the Community Center’s Sierra Room during the afternoon on the final Wednesday of each month.
Persons interested in applying should know these are volunteer positions and, if chosen, they will serve without compensation and likely will put in a dozen to 16 hours monthly. Application information becomes public knowledge. More information on policies regarding city government boards, committees and commissions is available at www.carson.org/volunteer.
Applications for the commission will be accepted until July 24. Interviews for both spots are planned tentatively by the mayor and supervisors at the board meeting of Thursday, Aug. 6.
