Miss Martin’s Benefit. The benefit to be given at the Carson Opera House for Miss Annie Martin ought to meet with a most liberal response. Miss Martin in the past has been at the beck and call of everybody who wanted her time and talents. She has acted for churches, charities and her services entirely gratuitous. Since the affliction has visited a family of which she is a member, the benefit tendered her is in full keeping with the circumstances. She has grown up among the citizens of Carson and is beloved and respected on every side.

Transformer. Sierra Pacific Power Company’s Brunswick substation shut down and left 75 percent of Carson City without electricity. Traffic was backed up for miles when traffic lights were out for longer than an hour.
