Sierra Nevada Forums present talk on managing pain June 18

A forum on medications, addiction and pain management is scheduled for the evening of June 18 at the Brewery Arts Center performance hall on West King Street in Carson City.

Sierra Nevada Forums, a local organization who offers forums without charge but accepts donations to defray expenses, announced the forum at 449 W. King St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. that Thursday; the event starts at 6 p.m.

Municipal Court Judge John Tatro will serve as moderator and Nevada Dr. Mel Pohl will provide the presentation prior to taking questions. Pohl is medical director of Las Vegas Recovery Center and has been involved in developing that center’s chronic pain recovery program.

He also is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and an author on the pain management subject.
