Opening of Ormsby county schools this fall will reflect the growth of the community, superintendent Al Seeliger said today.

Opening day is Tuesday, Sept. 4.

Six new sections will be added to the elementary schools, providing four sections of each grade from the 1st through 8th. Another kindergarten will also be established.

A special art teacher will serve grade 5 through 8, the superintendent said.

The music program will benefit with a special music teacher for grades 1 through 6, who will also assist A.A. Saliman with special programs.

A new staff member has been added in the high school to increase the science and mathematics program. Counseling and guidance program will also be increased.

Lineup for the five school buildings which will house kindergarten and grades 1 through 8 are as follows:

Corbett school will house sections of grade 1, 2 and 3.

Fremont school will have sections of grades 1, 2, 3, 4 and kindergarten.

Gleason school will serve grades 1, 2, 3 and kindergarten.

Intermediate school (Division and King Sts.), will house 4th and 5th grades.

The old high school will serve grades 6, 7 and 8.

The new high school, which is scheduled to be completed just before school opens, will include grades 9 through 12.

Information on registration procedures will be made available early in August, Seeliger said. However, all kindergarten children must present birth certificates at the time of registrations.

First graders who were not enrolled in local schools before must also provide birth certificates. Seeliger advised that parents should secure the certificates now.
