Carson City’s Board of Supervisors has approved a tentative subdivision map for 18 single family residences on land east of Hillview Drive near Clearview Drive.
The 19.5 acres involved are between Clearview and Appion Way to the east of Hillview on the city’s south side. The application was from Divinni NV, LLC, and the property owner is MJ Meek Ltd Part et al and Enterprises Realty.
The board took the action late Thursday near the close of a lengthy meeting in which members earlier had approved a $4.5 million budget but retained a $4 million cap on the sales tax share for the proposed new city animal shelter.
In that day long session the board also had earlier approved an amended contract with Marathon Staffing for temporary staffing services at $1.5 million annually, which extended the pact through June 30, 2017; awarded a contract to Coons Construction, LLC, for storm drain improvements at a total of $105,732, and awarded another to A&K Earth Movers, Inc., for Clear Creek Avenue sanitary sewer extension work at $963.600.
The Marathon Staffing extension prompted testimony from various city department heads saying use of temporary workers in pertinent circumstances helps save the city money. The $1.5 million price tag was no increase from the pact before the amendment.
The board approved a $115,000 contract for Carson City Jail and Juvenile Detention Center on-site medical services with Physician Select Management, LLC.
Also approved among previously budgeted matters was $889,620 for various firms with which city government has insurance coverage. The board, in addition, authorized Mayor Robert Crowell to sign an amendment to an interlocal agreement with Douglas County under which the county to the south provides geographic information services to the capital city. The budgeted amount involved is $250,000.
