Brief Monday closure set at Carson City rifle range

A three hour closure Monday morning is planned at the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range to have surveying work done.

The range will be closed from 6 to 9 a.m. according to a news release issued by Scott Fahrenbruch of Carson City’s Parks and Recreation Department. The range, which is located at 4000 Flint Dr., is scheduled to reopen for normal operations after 9 a.m. that day. The range is located off U.S. Highway 50 East and near the city landfill.

Normally the range is open for use seven days a week from dawn until dusk, except on days when there are tournaments under way or cleaning is scheduled. There are no rest room facilities and no attendant is on duty at the range.
