Lecture to cover prayer, Christian healing on May 23
Carson City’s First Church of Christ, Scientist, is sponsoring “What Is It That Connects Prayer with Healing?” a free lecture with Mark Swinney, at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at the Nevada State Museum, 600 N. Carson St.
Swinney, a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, is a teacher of Christian Science healing and has devoted more than 25 years to praying and empowering others to pray effectively for themselves. He travels the world speaking about his love for God and Christian healing. Swinney lives in Sandia Park, N.M.
Parking and childcare will be available at the event. Entrance is behind the museum on Curry Street.

First Baptist to hold parking lot sale May 16
First Baptist Church of Carson City will hold a huge parking lot sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16. It’s being hosted by FBC AWANA and the proceeds go to support youth ministries such as AWANA, youth camp and other church ministries. Items offered will include tools, furniture, Christmas decorations and many more treasures. First Baptist Church is located at 1750 N. Mountain Street at the corner of Bath and Mountain.
