For the 30th year, the Nevada Rural Counties Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Inc. (RSVP) will sponsor the Spring Fun Fair and Carnival at Mills Park Thursday through Sunday. The carnival opens at 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, at 2 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday. “All proceeds go towards services for Carson City seniors designed to assist them to remain independent and in their own homes with dignity. Programs include services such as escorted transportation, volunteer companions for those homebound, homemaker services, pro-bono legal services, personal emergency response systems, resistance exercise training, free Farmer’s Market coupons and much more,” said Susan Haas, Executive Director and CEO of RSVP.
The fair includes both favorite and new carnival rides. Live music from The Dave Medina Band will be played on Saturday evening and local musicians will perform Sunday. See our website for a full list of entertainment. The event features food booths, opportunities for shopping with great craft vendors, and a few surprises. All day ride wristbands are $30. If you visit our website (www.nevadaruralrsvp.org) or the RSVP booth at the fair you will receive a $5 off coupon, courtesy of Carson City Toyota-Scion. Coupons will also appear in our ad in the Nevada Appeal on Saturday.
On Sunday, there will be a special promotion for both moms and dads — an all-day “Parent” wristband will be available for just $5.00. Please purchase these special wristbands at the same time as the child’s.
