Vistage chairman Chuck Alvey is forming his third private advisory board for chief executives in the Reno area. Those interested in learning more are invited to an information meeting on May 19 at the Peppermill Hotel Casino.

“Private advisory boards provide insights that CEOs need to achieve extraordinary results,” Alvey said. “As the ‘new’ economy emerges and grows, business owners and executives are facing unique challenges and opportunities.”

Business leaders interested in learning more about Vistage need to preregister and prequalify for the May 19 event, which is restricted to northern Nevada CEOs and top executives of companies that generate $1 million or more in annual revenue. Seating is limited.

The event will introduce participants to the difference Vistage peer advisory groups can make, and to their peers at companies here in northern Nevada.

This will be the third chief executive private advisory board that Alvey has chaired for Vistage. Each peer-to-peer advisory group is limited to 12 to 17 members who meet monthly to discuss issues, challenges and opportunities, and to come to solutions. Vistage members also receive one-on-one executive coaching, hear expert speakers and have access to a global network of business leaders.

Vistage was founded in 1957 and is headquartered in San Diego. It assembles and facilitates private advisory boards for CEOs, senior executives and business owners. It has more than 19,000 members in 16 countries.

Alvey is one of two Vistage chairs in Reno, with Dan Barnett leading two other executive boards in the area.

Vistage chairs build advisory groups by personally identifying, engaging, coaching and developing members.

Alvey was the CEO, president and general manager of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) for 13 years, before becoming a Vistage chair. Prior to that, he was a television broadcast executive for more than 30 years.

To preregister for the May 19 information meeting, contact Alvey at 775-420-1017 or by email at chuck.alvey@vistagechair.com.
