Government Work is Rushed for Farmers
Construction of the Lahontan Dam near Fallon was well underway in 1912, when work included movement of dirt into the great embankment using a “great electric excavator,” one of the first of its kind. The dam, completed in 1915, was built to irrigate lands near Fallon and produce hydroelectric power.
