Las Vegas philanthropist and Democrat Susie Lee has announced a bid for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District seat.
Lee announced Thursday that she planned to seek the post now held by Republican Cresent Hardy. She’s joining Democratic state Sen. Ruben Kihuen and Democratic former Assemblywoman Lucy Flores in the race.
Lee has served as president of the nonprofit Communities in Schools of Nevada since 2010, and said improving education and creating jobs would be among her top priorities. This is her first time running for office.
The 4th Congressional District includes urban North Las Vegas and a large swatch of rural central Nevada.
