The Carson City Nugget Casino Hotel is hosting its 58th annual Community Thanksgiving Feast Thanksgiving Day.
This free event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the Nugget Ballroom. The menu includes turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, yams, dinner rolls and pumpkin pie.
The feast is a community centered event, and anyone from Carson City and surrounding areas are welcome to attend.
Local officials such as Sheriff Ken Furlong, Supervisor Lori Bagwell, Mayor Robert Crowell, Superintendent Richard Stokes and State Controller Ron Knecht will all be celebrity servers for the meal. The event also is a collaborative effort between the Nugget, the Hop and Mae Adams Foundation and F.I.S.H.
Last year, more than 800 people were served a free Thanksgiving meal.
