An enthusiastic crowd of Pickles cartoon strip followers filled the Dayton Valley Branch Library on Nov. 14 to hear a humorous presentation by the cartoon strip’s creator, Brian Crane.
Crane reviewed cartoon strips created by some of the younger potential future cartoonists at the Dayton Library and students from Andrea Delfin’s art class at Dayton Intermediate School. The cartoons can be seen at the library for several weeks.
Crane also sold and autographed books. He signed a 2-by-4-foot quilted wall hanging featuring several of his cartoon panels. The autographed wall hanging will be part of a “Friends” basket to be raffled off at the Library’s annual holiday party Dec. 6 at the Dayton Valley Community Center. Funds raised at the holiday party benefit the Dayton Valley Branch Library.
