Stemming from significant success of the two-year-old Center for Wound Healing in Carson City, Carson Tahoe Health is branching out with a brand new wound care facility in South Reno. The Center for Wound Healing opens Dec. 1 at 6630 S. McCarran Blvd.., Building C, Suite 202.

Combining evidence-based protocols with an ultra-modern, patient-centered environment, the Center for Wound Healing, Reno will enhance access to industry-leading technologies and treatments for patients with chronic, non-healing wounds. These complex wounds may be caused by factors such as diabetes, obesity, aging, or the late effects of radiation therapy. Left untreated, chronic wounds can lead to diminished quality of life and/or amputation of the affected limb.

According to a news release, Carson Tahoe Center for Wound Healing provides customized care plans and state-of-the-art wound treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure therapies, bioengineered tissues and biosynthetics.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to expand northern Nevada’s access to the latest advancements in wound care,” said David Hoskins, MD, medical director with Carson Tahoe Center for Wound Healing, in a statement. “Recognized as national best practice for wound healing, our physician-driven, clinically proven protocols and disease management model of care is specially designed to provide the most effective treatments with faster healing times.”
