The historic trains of the Nevada State Railroad Museum meet up with an old-fashioned pumpkin patch, artists and crafters that include Carson City Confections and Great Basin Woodcrafts and more today and Sunday at the Harvest Train Festival.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Nevada State Railroad, the event also benefits Friends in Service Helping. Guests are encouraged to bring cans of food for FISH, in exchange for a discount on pumpkins for sale. Proceeds from the sale help support train museum events throughout the year.
Trains run throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Glenbrook, is on display with its standard-gauge cousin, The Inyo.
Train rides are $8 for adults, $4 for ages 4-11 and museum members, and free for children 3 and younger. Separate admission applies to the museum’s interpretive center. The museum and festival are at 2180 S. Carson St. For more information, call 775-687-6953.
