Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Oct. 14. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:
Dotty’s, bar and lounge, 3771 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.
Carson Donut, 3170 S. Carson St., Suite 10, scored 79 points. Eggs were found stored over prepared foods in the large refrigerator. The employee hand wash sink was inaccessible. The rear entry door was open. Items in the refrigerators were not properly dated and labeled. Home style refrigerators were in use. The door of the bathroom was not self closing. There was no certified food handler on duty.
Slotworld, Betsy’s Cafe, 3879 E. Highway 50, scored 78 points. A refrigerator below the cook line was at 51 degrees. Eggs were stored over vegetables. The rear entry door didn’t close tightly, and there was a one-inch gap at the bottom of it. Uncovered food was stored in the walk-in refrigerator. Biofilm was found in the ice machine. The area behind the milk cooler and equipment needed to be cleaned. The mop sink and floor drains and sinks were dirty. Grease barrel and garbage storage container lids were open. The waste grease barrel and the concrete pad under it were coated with spilled food oil, dust and other debris. Floors in the kitchen, walk-in refrigeration units and the dish washing area needed to be cleaned.
