(Mollie Fourshay, continued from Friday). Mrs. Lewis had set watch upon his movements and every step was reported to her. The next morning Mrs. Lewis went to attorney who dissuaded her from a divorce, but she vowed to take the children back to Pennsylvania with her $200. She is now back among her eastern friends. Mr. Lewis, we are told, awoke penniless.

The Humboldt River is rising at this point and the volume of water is about four times as large as it was two weeks ago. The rise is believed to be due to the earthquake which increased the flow of springs along the course of the river as far east as Elko. — Humboldt Star.

Scientists are preparing to lend nature a hand in bringing relief to the Sierra and Northern Nevada after a below-normal winter. The Desert Research Institute, which seeds clouds to squeeze a few extra drops of moisture out of winter storms was given approval to seek $600,000 from the state to resume full-scale seeding.
