Whispering Vine Wine Company has opened a third location at 4201 W. 4th Street in the former Washoe Steakhouse.
According to a news release, the new location will have retail wine and liquor sales, wine tasting full bar and dining.
The business officially opened on June 29, but it has only been serving wine and alcohol in the bar area and patio.
After a remodel of the dining room in August, it is now completely open with the bar, restaurant and retail sales. The menu will feature small plate selections created by Chef Josh Davis, formerly of LuLou’s in Reno. The new business also will offer a banquet room for meetings and special events.
Owner Curtis Worrall opened his first wine shop at Mayberry and McCarran in October of 1998, making it the longest continuously running independently owned wine shop in northern Nevada. He opened his second location at 85 Foothill Road in November 2010.
Worrall said the 4th Street Whispering Vine will have the largest retail offerings of the three locations, including an expanded selection of craft distilled spirits featuring hard-to-find bourbons, single malts, vodkas and tequilas, as well as over 3,500 wines from which to choose.
The original location, at Mayberry and McCarran in Mayberry Landing, will remain open and the bar will expand from wine and beer only to full bar selection. The retail wine and craft alcohol sales, however, will move to the 4th Street location.
Whispering Vine’s second location at 85 Foothill Road in Reno, remains unchanged.
Hours of operation for the 4th Street location are Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday-Monday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Worrall invites everyone to his grand opening on Sept. 18 from 4-10 p.m.
