Carson City’s Meek’s Lumber & Hardware is holding its annual customer appreciation event Thursday.
The party will feature food, games, raffle prizes and more than a dozen vendors offering product samples and answering questions from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
“We’re just out to have some fun,” said Tony Dellacioppa, contractor sales.
Among the vendors will be Allura, the fiber cement manufacturer; Tamko Building Products, maker of EverGrain Composite Decking; OrePac, decking and door vendor; PPG Pittsburgh Paints; and Cascade Windows, the window and door maker.
Southwest Gas also will be on hand to talk to contractors about calling the utility two days before digging or underground excavation project.
The event joins a list of other promotions the store offers about a twice a month.
That includes deck blowout sales leading into summer and barbecues the first Friday of every month as well as its M-Pro contractor rewards and discount program.
The deals help the store compete with major national retailers such as Lowe’s and Home Depot.
“We’re more lumber contractor oriented,” said Dellacioppa. “If you go to a big box store and ask for a six-by-six Douglas fir they’ll special order it. We have it here.”
Meek’s Lumber & Hardware is located at 2869 N. Carson St.
