The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) announced today that Thrive Market, a membership-based site-commerce platform with a mission to make healthy living easy and affordable, is opening a West Coast distribution center on Milan Drive in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center and plans to hire up to 400 new employees. The company will be investing $3.5 million in capital equipment toward their new operation and also received business incentives from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development in July.
Thrive Market offers over 4,000 of the most popular-selling healthy natural and organic food products from top brands with up to 50% off retail prices, delivered to your door. The company has an impressive line-up of strategic partners that include Annie’s, Seventh Generation, Bob’s Red Mill, Gaia Herbs, Nutiva, Smarty Pants, Bragg, Acure, Late July and many more, including a new Thrive Market branded line of items. For every paid membership, Thrive Market donates a membership to a family in need.
“We’re thrilled to open our new Thrive Market distribution center in Reno and bring more job opportunities to the region,” said Nick Green, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Thrive Market in a press release. “Opening this distribution center will allow us to provide greater access to affordable and healthy food nationwide.”
“The Tahoe Reno Industrial Center’s proximity combined with the tremendous benefits of doing business in Nevada continues to draw attention from a variety of industries, including health,” Pat Whitten, Storey County manager, said in a press release. “We’ve heard it many times that Storey County makes doing business in Nevada a viable option and this is another prime example of what regional collaboration can do. We’re proud to welcome Thrive Market to our growing community of businesses that are calling northern Nevada home.”
“I am very excited and pleased that Thrive Market has chosen Northern Nevada to relocate their operations here and we believe this is an ideal location to grow their business,” said Mike Kazmierski CEO of EDAWN in a press release. “Healthy living and the proper nutrition that supports a healthy lifestyle for everyone is what Thrive Market is all about and a great fit for our region.”
