Carson City Toyota is funding several new scholarships for local students who attend Western Nevada College. The students come from Carson, Dayton, Douglas and Silver Stage high schools.
Carson Toyata General Manager Dana Whaley presented a $4,000 check to WNC President Chet Burton this week. The scholarships were created to help eight college students meet financial needs, as they work toward a degree from WNC. Four scholarships will benefit students pursuing degrees or certifications in automotive mechanics. Four other scholarships will help students attain associate degrees in the area of their choice.
“It’s my hope that this donation inspires other businesses to support area students. As a business community, we need to work together to develop our local workforce.” said Whaley in a press release.
“Carson City Toyota and Campagni Auto Group as a whole are deeply invested in this community.” said WNC President Chet Burton in a press release. “They’ve been consistently supportive of Western Nevada College. We’re excited about growing our partnership.”
