Business briefly: Job fair to fill openings at ServPro

ServPro is hosting a job fair from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 6 at Carson City JobConnect to fill positions in three locations.

The water and fire damage restoration company is looking for a marketing professional for its Carson City office to help it grow in the Northern Nevada marketplace, including targeting state and local government agencies.

ServPro in South Lake Tahoe is hiring laborers to be part of its crew. Applicants must have a strong work ethic and great attitude. Experience in mitigation/restoration or construction work is a plus. Must be able to pass a drug test and have a clean driving record.

An experienced production manager is sought to oversee and manage the ServPro team in Stateline.

Nonprofit wins Underdog grant from Art Paws

Pets of the Homeless won an “Underdog” grant in the amount of $1,697 given by Art Paws at the yearly event during Artown in Reno.

During the event Feeding Pets of the Homeless collected 133 pounds, 253 cans of pet food plus 36 pet toys from attendees as well as more than $500 in cash.

The donations will help feed and provide basic emergency veterinary care to pets of the homeless and thus relieve the anguish and anxiety of the homeless who can’t provide for their pets.
