PRSA Sierra Nevada Chapter presents Silver Spike Awards

The Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America celebrated five individuals, four Silver Spike awards and a number of other awards during its 2016 Silver Spikes banquet, held Thursday, Nov. 17, at Whitney Peak Hotel.

“In PRSA Sierra Nevada’s 30th year, we had quite a lot to celebrate,” Amanda Horn, 2016 PRSA Sierra Nevada president and communications director for the Nevada Museum of Art, said in a press release. “And, I want to thank all who have done so much for the chapter and its continued success. Our community and industry are better for it.”

Individual winners

Outstanding New Practitioner Award: Jessica Fagundes, Nevada Department of Agriculture.

Mark Curtis, Sr., Chapter Member of the Year: Constance Aguilar, The Abbi Agency.

Mark Twain Community Service Award: Heidi Parker, Immunize Nevada.

Gold Spike Community Excellence Award: Nancy McCormick, EDAWN.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Susan Hill, APR, recently retired from the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine.
