Craig Madole has been named executive director of the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors.
He replaces his father, John Madole, who served in the capacity since 1989.
The elder Madole, who served in the organization for 43 years, was honored Jan. 7 by AGC past presidents at a special invitation-only reception at the Eldorado Resort Casino Convention.
He began his career with the AGC as assistant director in 1972.
Under John Madole’s direction, the AGC has help initiate funding for the region’s infrastructure and vocational education projects.
The Nevada Chapter AGC worked to pass a pair of regional gas tax measures to build new and improve existing roads in the state. It also worked to build a new engineering lab at the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1987, as well as a private campaign to raise matching dollars for a state-of-the-art earthquake structural research testing facility at the school.
Some of the other projects the organization spearheaded were: the John Champion Park, Steven G. Riddell Stadium, the annual Truckee River Clean Up, Truckee Meadows Boys and Girls Club, Veterans Guest House, St. Vincent’s Transitional Living Center, Evelyn Mount Community Outreach Project, Rancho San Rafael Nature Trail, and the Idlewild Park Children’s Train Station.
The Nevada Chapter also worked with the state legislature to create the state’s charter school program and its first charter school, Academy for Career Education, focused on construction and vocational curriculum.
Craig Madole has served as assistant executive director for the Nevada Chapter AGC since April of 2013. He also served as the chapter’s legislative liaison in the 2013 and 2015 sessions of the Nevada Legislature.
Madole has been a member of the Nevada Air National Guard since 1989 serving in a variety of roles. He is currently assigned as the chief enlisted manager as a chief master sergeant. During a 2011 deployment to Afghanistan, Madole served as a squadron superintendent and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal upon return from his tour of duty.
He also will become the new chief executive officer of the Associated General Contractors of America.
