NNBW makes changes to online access

The Northern Nevada Business Weekly is beginning a new paid subscription model on our Web site. Previously we operated under a hard paywall at www.nnbw.com that required a paid subscription to read all the stories.

We now have a pay meter for our website, which is more common in the industry. Online readers can view a certain number of stories per month. Once they hit the magic number, they must be a paid subscriber to read more.

For us, the magic number is four in a 30-day period, basically one per week. Once you hit the fifth story, you’ll be asked to subscribe. We’ll manually make some stories free — meaning they won’t count against your limit of four a month. But if you’re a loyal reader and hit the fifth story, we hope you’ll figure out that the monthly subscription price is well worth the value you get for reading about the leads, news, and features that are important to business owners in northern Nevada.

That said, occasional readers will now have access to more stories online before hitting the paywall. We hope, by seeing how valuable the content can be, to turn occasional readers into loyal subscribers.

Print subscribers automatically have access to all articles online.

Inaugurating the metered paywall also has necessitated reactivation of digital subscriptions. Subscribers are receiving email notices asking that they reregister. This does not affect print subscriptions. Reregistering opens up access to all of our online content. If you have difficulty reregistering, feel free to email us at Subscribe@nnbw.biz.
