Brunswick and Merrimac. Both mills are running at full head. The Merrimac is one of the best in this state. Other mills on the river are too much in the hands of a liberal banker to flourish.

Bank busted. The bank of Mono County has closed its doors, and Bodie is feeling quite blue over the outlook. This was caused by a demand by the Anglo California bank for money due on a draft on protest.

Flora and V. S. Barber. A deed was filed which transfers a strip of land 100 feet wide to the Western Pacific Railroad. It covers a slice of real estate 50 feet on each side of the center line.

80 Years Ago

Roy Mighels. A well known and former resident of Carson and Ormsby County has been assigned in a writers’ project approved in Nevada and is spending a few days in the capital city collecting history.

Clear Creek Job Corps. It was a proud moment as the Job Corps camp at Clear Creek had its first graduate, J. Dean Yost, and its first “graduating” into a branch of armed forces.
