All sorts. Congressman Woodburn has introduced a bill to build an Indian school at Carson.

110 Years Ago

Earthquake. This city was visited by a trembler, according to Charley Friend’s seismograph recorder. There was exceedingly high wind and plenty of storm in the area and few people felt the quake. It traveled from northeast to southwest and was of 10 seconds duration. One quake that happened in 1882 was so severe that dishes were rattle down, people thrown from their beds and damage to stone buildings. Even the hot springs was churned up.

70 Years Ago

Homeless servicemen. The Carson City Housing Authority has requested more buildings for “homeless” servicemen. Twelve more units will be asked for making the total 32 buildings in all.

50 Years Ago

Births. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bernard, a son; Mr. and Mrs. David Lippincott, a son; Mr. and Mrs. Gary Sheerin, a son.

20 Years Ago

Windy day. Sixty-mile-an-hour winds smashed the plate glass window at Friends in Service Helping and toppled a four light standard light pole in the Silver City Mall’s parking lot.
