Lake Tahoe Brewing Company in Carson City has temporarily closed.
Company owner Michael Candelario said unfortunately because of a situation out of its control, it can’t make the product its known for — beer — and hasn’t been able to brew its product for sometime now. Candelario said the Carson City restaurant was relying on its available supply before it had to close in the last several days.
“We’re kind of bummed out about it,” Candelario said. “We never thought we’d be in this situation.”
A sign posted on the door of the restaurant at 302 N. Carson St. stated Friday: “We are saddened to announce that we will be temporarily closed effective immediately as a result of unfulfilled contractual obligations and promises pertaining to our brewing equipment from our property owner. Since September of 2015, we have been operating our brewery at significantly reduced capacity and since November of 2015, we’ve been unable to brew any beer at all. Please know that we are extremely thankful for our loyal customers, which is why were are working closely with our property owner to get this resolved as soon as possible. We are eager to continue brewing and doing what we love most. See you soon!”
Lake Tahoe Brewing Co. is known for its woodfired pizza and hand crafted ale.
Candelario said he had no timetable on the Carson City restaurant would re-open. “We’re really hopeful that we can open as soon as possible,” he said.
Lake Tahoe Brewing Company does have a restaurant open in Fernley and has been planning on opening a restaurant in Truckee since the fall, but hasn’t been able to open in Truckee, yet. Candelario said when the Carson City and Truckee restaurants can open is contingent on when his company can begin brewing again.
